A local, fast and sovereign voice dictation
WakaScribe works natively on macOS and Windows, without a user login and without a mandatory network connection.
Speech recognition takes place directly on the workstation, guaranteeing confidentiality, speed and independence from the cloud.
The recognition engine is based on Parakeet, with specific optimizations according to the hardware environment: Apple Silicon processors, Nvidia RTX graphics cards under Windows, or CPU execution optimized via OpenVINO for machines without a dedicated GPU. This approach allows for fluid and efficient dictation, even in sensitive or constrained contexts.
A simple application, inspired by the best standards
The ergonomics of WakaScribe are designed to be immediately accessible, without complex configuration. It is inspired by best practices from recognized dictation tools, while maintaining a local and controlled approach.
WakaScribe is offered as freeware, freely downloadable from the WakaStellar site, in the form of a portable executable or macOS package, as well as via the Apple and Windows stores. The user can thus dictate text in any enterable area of his system, without relying on a specific business application.
A connected version for teamwork
Beyond local dictation, WakaScribe offers a connected web version accessible via app.wakascribe.com.
This version allows you to synchronize user preferences, settings, and dictionaries between multiple workstations.
Teams can also share common dictionaries, facilitating the use of business or technical vocabulary in a collaborative context. For less powerful machines, the connected version makes it possible to use online dictation engines such as Grok or Whisper, offering great flexibility of use.
